Pooja Newman discusses the new Aged Care landscape

With the commencement of the Royal Commission into Aged Care in Australia has come the unprecedented spotlight into our industry including an open an transparent discussion about community concerns and expectations. Never before has there been such an outpouring of emotion with regards to how Australians want the shape of aged care to be transformed into the future. Good governance, showcasing quality compassionate care has become even more important with an absolute need for seeking feedback and responding in a timely and appropriate fashion to all of our key stakeholders.

This also seems like a once in a generation opportunity to get it right and bring well-being care experiences for senior Aussies. Aged care has become an issue of national importance and the opening remarks from Commissioner Briggs we are all expecting aged care to “especially of being fit for purpose, customised to the individual and of the highest standards in terms of quality and safety a system in which aged care services are delivered effectively and can be sustained into the future.”

It is an exciting time at Ananda Aged Care and our dynamic and responsive Board has embraced the opportunity to further delve into evidence based practices and become a leader in dementia care utilising the new Standards of care as a springboard for the very best opportunity for person-centred care in our homes.

Recognising the importance of acceptance and inclusion of diversity, bringing meaningful choices and the continuing our commitment for a safe workplace that delivers best practice holistic care is an ongoing priority.
